Agricultural Engineer, Turlock, CA
We are currently looking for an Agricultural Engineer who is dynamic and motivated to work in the Turlock office.
The ideal candidate will have an educational background in Agricultural Engineering or related studies and a minimum of three years experience working in agricultural related fields including crops, soil science or animal sciences.
What you get to do:
As an integral part of the project team you will be directly responsible for advising crop producers in the areas of nutrient management, providing superior environmental services and customer support and mentoring technical staff. Other job duties include:
- Client and regulatory interaction, may act as primary point of contact for one or more clients.
- Provide expertise in the areas of nutrient management including land application of manure and wastewater.
- Provide experience with flood, sprinkler and big gun irrigation timing, management and calibration
- Understand and maintain conformance with client's policies and procedures.
- Develop strategies and work scope to satisfy client and project needs.
- Manage and oversee projects, working with dedicated and shared staff.
- Assure project quality, budget, schedule, and deliverables.
- Review and clarify reports and deliverables.
- Manage internal and external due dates.
- Oversee project invoicing.
- Assist with business development, cost proposals and estimates.
Other Duties:
- Identify and develop methods and processes to improve group efficiency and/or client satisfaction.
- Identify and stay current with technical and regulatory developments in the industry.
What we are looking for:
- BS/MS in Agricultural Engineering or related studies Minimum of 3 years in crop consulting or general agricultural consulting.
- Familiarity with cropping systems in California’s Central Valley or similar region.
- Strong technical skills including excellent working knowledge of current regulations.
- Ability to work independently and be self-reliant.
- Must be able to speak and write clearly and concisely in the English language.
- Must possess a valid drivers' license and own a vehicle.
