Air Quality Engineer, Signal Hill, CA
We are currently looking for an Air Quality Engineer that is motivated, self-starter and effective team player with project management capabilities to work in our Signal Hill (Southern California) office.
The ideal candidate will have an educational background in environmental, chemical or civil engineering or related studies and 5 years experience with air quality engineering, supporting projects involving site investigations, remediation, regulatory compliance and environmental permitting for groundwater, soil, soil vapor, air and/or waste. PE registration in CA and relevant hands-on experience are required. Experience with permit strategy design (strategic avoidance), management of subcontractors, scheduling, and agency negotiations a significant plus.
What you get to do:
Provide engineering support including management of site investigation/remediation including oversight of operations and maintenance of remediation equipment/installations, remedial system optimization, facility compliance evaluations, emissions calculations, regulatory applicability reviews (review/interpretation of environmental regulations), engaging staff in field data collection and interpretation, permit preparation, and completion of monitoring reports. Additionally, you will:
- Understand and maintain conformance with client's policies and procedures.
- Develop strategies and work scope to satisfy client and project needs.
- Manage and oversee engineering aspects of projects, working with dedicated and shared staff.
- Assure project quality, budget, schedule, and deliverables.
- Manage internal and external due dates.
- System design and installation.
- General reporting.
What we are looking for:
- BS/BA in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering or related studies required.
- PE Registration in CA
- Computer proficiency with air and water modeling
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER training required
- Familiarity with CA Technical Regulations for Site Remediation
- Must be able to speak and write clearly and concisely in the English language.
- Must possess a valid drivers' license and own vehicle.
